Guercino in an Up-Close View — Art meets digital signage
12 high-resolution screens bring Guercino's centuries-old cathedral frescoes to life, allowing visitors to experience masterpiece details that were previously invisible to the naked eye — all in harmonic coexistence with the sacred space.
Guercino's masterpieces showcased with SpinetiX digital signage at Piacenza Cathedral
The Challenge
The dome of Piacenza Cathedral holds spectacular frescoes by Guercino (1591–1666), but their location 25 meters above makes it impossible for visitors to appreciate the intricate details. The exhibition needed to bring these masterpieces close to visitors without disturbing the cathedral's solemn, religious atmosphere.
The Solution
12 LG 55-inch high-resolution screens powered by SpinetiX HMP350 players and Elementi software display extreme close-ups and restoration details of Guercino's frescoes. The screens are arranged to create an immersive walkthrough experience that reveals brushstrokes, color mastery, and compositional details invisible to the naked eye.
